What is your favorite thing about the law? My favorite thing about the law is the opportunity it gives me to get a first-hand glimpse into our clients’ businesses and how they run.
What community projects are you involved in? I am a member of First Presbyterian Church and am involved in both its Christian Education program and its tutoring program for disadvantaged children.
What was your first job?
My first job was scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins as a fifteen year old in Greenville, South Carolina.
What are your hobbies?
Unfortunately, practicing law and parenting two small boys doesn’t leave much time for hobbies!
What advice would you give to a young student in law school?
I would advise him or her not to specialize too much in a particular type of law. Clients rarely ask questions that simply involve one type of law and a good lawyer needs to be able to spot all of the issues in the client’s question in order to ensure that she or he fully assists the client.
