About Ginger

Ginger practices in both the firm’s Litigation and Labor and Employment Law sections, and regularly handles insurance and commercial disputes including defending class action litigation for several insurance clients, manufacturers and cable companies. She is very knowledgeable about bad faith insurance, reinsurance and regulatory matters. She also specializes in a number of product liability design areas, including defending fire cases nationwide for several clients. Ginger also has extensive experience with railroad and labor and employment matters including trying numerous Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) and Title VII cases.

Ginger is the current Chair-Elect of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association. She previously served as Vice Chair, as well as, secretary and diversity officer for TIPS and has been a member of the TIPS Council. Ginger has been the Director of the National Trial Academy held every year in Reno, Nevada and has taught at several other Trial Academies. Ginger has also been selected for inclusion in the Alabama Super Lawyers and the Top 25 Women Lawyers.

Ginger served as President of the Homewood, Alabama City Council from 2000 to 2008, and is also a member of Leadership Birmingham. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the State Bar of Georgia and the Birmingham Bar Association.

Ginger earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law, and received her B.A. from the University of Alabama. During law school, she was articles editor of the Cumberland Law Review, an oralist on the National Moot Court Team and a member of both the Order of Barristers and Curia Honoris.

What is your favorite thing about the law? The challenge of presenting your particular facts with a court’s interpretation of the law.

What was your first job? I was a mail room clerk at Allstate Insurance.

What are your hobbies? Gardening and reading.

How do you define a “good day?” Everyday is a good day and some are great!

How do you spend your weekends? Generally at one of my children’s events or by the water - lake or beach.
