About Jodi

Jodi Dixon is an Associate with Burr & Forman LLP’s Atlanta office. She practices in the Construction and Commercial Litigation practice groups. Jodi devotes a significant portion of her practice to financial services litigation as well. Jodi represents general contractors, owners, construction managers, financial institutions and commercial lenders in disputes, beginning the relationship before any lawsuit is filed and throughout the course of the litigation if the matter is not resolved pre-suit. She has experience in every aspect of litigation including arbitration, depositions, settlement negotiations and trial. Jodi also has experience in the insurance industry, preparing coverage opinion letters on behalf of insurers and litigating insurance coverage disputes. Additionally, she handles disputes between broker-dealer entities and insurance companies, as well as broker-dealers and agents.

Jodi recently co-authored a paper discussing emerging issues in the area of electronic discovery that was presented at the 2010 American Bar Association Section of Litigation Annual Conference. She also contributes to the Atlanta Bar Association Construction Law Section newsletter. Jodi is involved in the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction. She is also a member of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry, the Georgia Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association.

Jodi received her J.D. in 2006 from Georgia State University College of Law, where she served on the Georgia State University Law Review as the Symposium Editor. As the Symposium Editor, she worked with law school faculty members and planned a symposium focusing on urban redevelopment entitled, What Kind of Metropolitan Areas Do We Want? Challenges, Promises and Pitfalls in Redevelopment, and edited the corresponding law review volume. She received her B.A. in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Agnes Scott College in 2003.

Lifeguard at a neighborhood pool in high school.

What are your hobbies?

Trying new restaurants with my husband, spending time with friends and family, reading and trying to spend time outdoors doing anything, even yard work!
