About Scott
Scott practices in the firm’s Litigation section. He is admitted to the Alabama Bar, the Texas Bar, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Scott received his B.A. in 1985 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his Ph.D. in Political Science in 1993 from Tulane University. He earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1998. During law school, Mr. Boykin served as Lead Articles Editor of the Alabama Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Scott authored “Constitutional Torts, Preemption Doctrine, and Alabama’s Wrongful Death Act,” 28 Cumberland Law Review 39-63 (1997-1998). Following law school, he served as a Judicial Clerk to The Honorable Patrick E. Higginbotham, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
