About David

David Michel serves as the firm’s Chief Information Officer where he is responsible for the firm’s technology infrastructure, assisting in the development of the firm’s technology strategy, and for the delivery of technology services and litigation support to all of Burr & Forman’s offices.

Prior to joining Burr & Forman, David served for over a decade as IT Director and in other IT leadership positions for law firms Turner Padget Graham & Laney and Ruden McClosky. David also owned and operated his own technology consulting firm for over five years and consulted extensively with Florida law firms as well as educational institutions such as the University of Miami, Florida State University and the University of South Florida.

David believes in keeping up with technology trends and holds multiple industry certifications and has expertise in disaster recovery & business continuity, project management, virtualization, network operations, storage, email and telecommunications systems.

David also serves as the ILTA (International Legal Technology Association) Regional Vice President for the Southeast region and has spoken at major industry conferences and trade shows. David has also contributed numerous articles in magazines and trade journals and his work has been the subject of several “real world” case studies. David received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and has over 15 years of experience in Information Technology, including over 12 years in legal IT.
