Beth Shirley Receives Certified Information Privacy Professional "CIPP" Certification

Burr & Forman announces that Partner Elizabeth "Beth" Shirley has received the Certified Information Privacy Professional "CIPP" certification.

Beth recently passed the IAPP CIPP/US exam to become a certified privacy professional. The Certified Information Privacy Professional / US is offered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and the designation requires the individual to demonstrate an understanding of principles-based framework and a knowledge base in information privacy in the U.S. context. This exam covers topics from privacy laws and standards to data breach response methodology. The CIPP/US certification identifies Beth as a premier privacy professional.

At Burr, Beth is a member of the firm's Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and Electronic Transactions Group and Cybersecurity Team and represents clients in litigation involving electronic signatures and electronic contracts, as well as advising clients on cybersecurity compliance, incident response plans, employee training, vendor/third party risk, company policies and procedures, and in the event of a breach, incident response.
