Daily Report: Georgia Providers Prepare for Major Changes to Payments
In an article published on March 6, 2017 in the Daily Report, Chet Hosch provides guidance to how the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) Quality Payment Program is impacting Georgia physician practices and how they can prepare for it. Hosch explains that MACRA repealed the Medicare sustainable growth rate methodology for updates to the physician fee schedule and replaced it with a new approach to payment called the Quality Payment Program (QPP), resulting in comprehensive changes to payments under Medicare Part B. Hosch suggests that physician practices should reexamine and coordinate their practice performance improvement efforts and reconsider whether their capital expenditures and personnel investments are positioning their practice for long-term success.
