Before the recent economic crash, private aircraft sales were booming, and many of these sales were financed and the aircraft pledged as security to the lender. With the recent downturn in the economy, lenders have seen a steady trickle of defaults on these loans, and so more and more lenders find themselves trying to figure out the best way to locate, repossess and sell encumbered aircraft.
