Burr & Forman Announces Recent Win In Major Labor Union Election Involving A Hyundai Auto Supplier

Firm News

Burr & Forman announces recent win in major labor union election involving a Hyundai auto supplier. The Burr team, led by Partner Marcel Debruge, were brought on to assist the company in its response to an aggressive union organizing campaign at the plant earlier this summer.

The company was targeted by the RWDSU union, which recently has targeted automotive manufacturing operations in Southeast Alabama.

The National Labor Relations Board conducted the election on August 21st resulting in 212 votes for the company and 15 votes for the union. This election was held pursuant to the NLRB "Ambush" Election Rules which require a vote in as little as three weeks from the date of the filing of an election petition by a union.

The Burr team also included fellow Labor and Employment Birmingham attorneys Ingu Hwang, Ron Flowers, Trent Scofield, Sharonda Childs and Meryl Cowan, along with paralegal Sara McAlister.
