Burr & Forman Expands its Columbia Office with Addition of Two Attorneys

Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce the addition of attorneys Chad N. Johnston and Tracey C. Green to its Columbia, SC office.

These well-recognized South Carolina lawyers are an excellent addition to our firm in Columbia and provide further depth in key service areas, including state administrative and regulatory law,” said Ed Christian, CEO. “Their experience meets the increased demand we are seeing from existing clients and will allow us to maintain and expand service to our clients.”

Chad N. Johnston joins as a Partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Chad works with a wide range of clients, including individuals, state and local governmental entities, investor-owned and governmental utilities, and corporate entities, with a particular emphasis on regulatory and administrative compliance, environmental permitting and site development for industry and governmental entities, as well as administrative and civil litigation. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.A. in French and Intercultural Studies for Business with German from Wofford College. Chad also has an International M.B.A. from the Darla Moore School of Business. After law school, Chad served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kaye G. Hearn, Justice of the Supreme Court of South Carolina, encompassing Justice Hearn’s final two years as Chief Judge of the South Carolina Court of Appeals and first year as a Justice on the Supreme Court.

Tracey C. Green joins as a Partner in the firm’s Corporate and Tax Practice Group. Tracey is a licensed certified public accountant as well as a lawyer, and regularly represents businesses on tax and administrative matters as well as in business disputes, including complex civil litigation, and also represents clients in regulatory matters before the South Carolina Public Service Commission. His previous experience includes serving as Chief Counsel to the South Carolina House of Representatives Judiciary Committee and as an Assistant Attorney General for South Carolina. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his Masters of Taxation and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Carolina. After law school, Tracey clerked for the Honorable William W. Wilkins Jr., Circuit Judge, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  Tracey is an attorney member of the South Carolina Commission on Judicial Conduct.

Both attorneys previously practiced at the firm of Willoughby & Hoefer, P.A. in Columbia.
