Burr & Forman Formalizes Private Equity Sector Team in Response to Growing Client Demand

Firm News

Burr & Forman LLP, a Southeastern-based Am Law 200 firm, is pleased to announce the formalization of its Private Equity Sector Team.

Led by Partner Sims Rhyne, the cross-discipline team is comprised of lawyers from across the firm’s footprint. The Private Equity Sector Team is the eighth sector team established by the firm, with the purpose of increasing collaboration and enhancing client service.

The firm’s Private Equity Sector Team advises clients throughout the country – both private equity funds investing in companies and companies seeking capital. Burr’s private equity lawyers typically focus on M&A work for middle market companies and growth equity, with deal size ranging from $5 million to $200 million. The team has particular depth of experience in private equity deals in the food and beverage, health care (including physician practices and dental/orthodontic providers), industrials, retail, fitness/athletic clubs, technology, travel and leisure, and manufacturing sectors.

"The formalization of this team is in direct response to client feedback," said Rhyne. "While Burr & Forman has handled private equity transactions for decades, this structure allows us to pool resources and experiences to ensure each attorney has real-time knowledge of the nuances and trends of the private equity marketplace and to enhance our client service.”
