Burr & Forman Names 6 New Partners Across Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Florida

Burr & Forman LLP announces the election of six attorneys to partnership, effective January 1, 2021. The attorneys named Partner by office include:

Birmingham

Laura Murphy practices in the firm’s Lending and Real Estate Practice Groups. She graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she served as junior editor and articles editor for the Alabama Law Review and as a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team and the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board.

Sims Rhyne practices in the firm’s Corporate and Tax Practice Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of corporate law, including mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, corporate formations and reorganizations, corporate governance, contract law, and financing transactions (including angel investments, private placements, and venture capital investments).

Al Teel is a litigation partner, where his practice is devoted to serving clients in the transportation, logistics and manufacturing industries. Al litigates a variety of disputes including those involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, commercial motor vehicle accidents, products liability, premises liability, Carmack Amendment claims, property damage, insurance coverage, and employment-related claims.

Hilton Head Island

Jonathan Eggert practices in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group and has experience assisting and advising clients on business immigration and labor and employment issues in a wide range of industries, including higher education, healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing.

Jacksonville

John Baker maintains a general litigation practice, with a focus on commercial litigation, mass torts, product liability, toxic torts, and cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. Throughout his career and the wide variety of cases he has handled, he has been fortunate to have been frequently called on to defend companies in complex “bet the company” litigation.

Mobile

Christine Burns practices in the firm’s Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). Christine has a wide range of litigation experience, primarily defending corporate and municipal clients in personal injury, product liability, commercial, construction, and health care disputes. She also represents creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, foreclosure sales, and receiverships.
