Burr & Forman Welcomes Commercial Litigation Partner Russell Rutherford
Burr & Forman announces the addition of Russell Rutherford as a partner to the Birmingham office where he advises clients in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and government relations matters. In his litigation practice, he counsels clients on a full range of commercial disputes, including traditional types of disputes as well as more complex litigation.

"His tremendous experience representing the financial services, insurance, housing, construction and health care industries will further bolster our services in those areas."
In his practice, Rutherford has experience in general commercial litigation, transactional drafting, education law, and regulatory compliance, with an emphasis on the construction and health care industries. He also has experience in commercial loan workouts, special assets, and Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In his government relations practice, Rutherford advises clients on regulatory matters, including Certificate of Need proceedings.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics from the University of Mississippi and his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law.
A graduate of Project Corporate’s leadership class of 2017, Rutherford is involved in multiple philanthropic efforts, including his work as a member of the St. Vincent’s Foundation Junior Advisory Board.
