Burr & Forman Welcomes Partner Ricky Benjamin to Atlanta Office
Burr & Forman is pleased to announce the arrival of Ricky Benjamin as a Partner in the firm's Atlanta office. Ricky is a recognized leader in the Life Sciences industry.
Ricky advises clients on U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters, including clinical trials, product development, and safety requirements for consumer products under the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). He works with a broad range of clients, including manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biologics, cosmetics, and personal care products, providing guidance on labeling, marketing, and post-market compliance. Ricky also helps navigate fraud prevention in activities like speaking engagements, clinical trials, and advisory board participation.
Ricky represents clients throughout the product lifecycle, from formulation and premarket approvals to recalls and post-market compliance. He also provides regulatory guidance on emerging issues in digital health, AI, and machine learning. Additionally, he advises on supply chain matters, including agreements and software licensing for regulated products, and helps clients manage government investigations, off-label promotion, and interactions between health care professionals and life sciences companies.

With extensive litigation experience, Ricky has defended over 200 cases and handled more than 50 government investigations involving the FDA, FTC, Department of Justice, and other agencies. His transactional practice includes conducting due diligence and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in mergers and acquisitions. Ricky has served as general counsel for health care practices, regional head of litigation for a global insurance company, and national trial counsel in opioid litigation. He also taught health care law and ethics at Tulane University.
Ricky obtained his B.S. from Southern University and A&M and his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law.
