Burr & Forman Welcomes Tim Heisterhagen to Mobile Office

Firm News

Burr & Forman is pleased to announce that Tim Heisterhagen has joined its Mobile office as counsel in the Transportation, Insurance, and Product Section practice group. Tim's practice focuses primarily on maritime, aviation, and commercial litigation.

“Tim Heisterhagen joins the firm with a vast amount of trial experience in complex cases in the private sector in addition to his top-level leadership experience in the public sector," said Ricardo Woods, managing partner of the firm's Mobile office. "The fact that he is licensed in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi will help the firm continue the tradition of serving our clients across the Burr & Forman footprint.”

Before joining the firm, Tim served as both the Chief of the Civil Division and as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he managed the Civil Division responsible for representing the United States in various civil matters. He defended the United States in actions brought under the Federal Tort Claims Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and other regulatory and constitutional claims. Additionally, Tim worked at a local full-service law firm, where he established a nationwide practice defending numerous product liability matters related to aviation, maritime, and other products, while also handling complex litigation in areas such as maritime law, toxic torts, and medical malpractice cases.

Tim earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Washington and Lee University.
