Burr & Forman’s Ginger Busby Honored Among Birmingham’s Best of the Bar
Burr & Forman announces that partner Jennifer “Ginger” M. Busby has been named to the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” Award’s list of honorees. The award recognizes talented professionals in Birmingham’s legal scene, highlighting industry leaders across a range of practice groups.
An influential leader in litigation, Busby is a past recipient of the ABA’s James K. Carroll Leadership Award and is an agent of change in her profession and a champion for diversity. She has led several instructional programs in which participants have gone on to serve as judges on supreme courts and courts of appeals, moved to in-house counsel positions, or are leaders in their professions and communities. Busby encourages young lawyers to analyze issues objectively and think about the best outcome for the client, considering this the most important quality a lawyer can possess.
Busby has been part of the ABA’s Leadership Academy Task Force for the past 10 years, leads the Diversity Committee at Burr & Forman, and in 2012, helped launch the firm’s first Women’s Initiative program through which she promotes the importance of inclusion in combination with diversity.
Busby also serves as practice group leader of Burr & Forman’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) and brings nearly three decades of experience advising clients on litigation matters, particularly in the employment space. She has defended insurance clients in various coverage matters, and defends manufacturers, cable companies, and other types of tort cases nationwide for many clients. She is also known for her proficiency with different types of insurance products.
Busby earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and her law degree from Cumberland School of Law.
