Burr & Forman's Jim Hoover Appointed as Vice Chair of the Healthcare Practice Section of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel
Birmingham, Ala., July 21, 2015, - Burr & Forman LLP announces that James A. Hoover has been appointed as Vice Chair of the Healthcare Practice Section of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC).
The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel is an international organization founded in 1936. The Federation has approximately 1400 members from the United States, Puerto Rico, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Its members include experienced attorneys in private practice who specialize in the defense of civil litigation, corporate counsel, risk managers, and insurance claims executives. Membership is by invitation only following an extensive peer review selection process.
Hoover will officially become Vice Chair at the FDCC's business meeting in Banff, Canada on July 31st and will serve a one year term. In addition to his leadership appointment, Hoover is also a member of the Extra Contractual Liability, and Drug, Device and Biotechnology Sections of the FDCC.
At Burr & Forman, Hoover practices in the firms Health Care practice group. He represents numerous hospitals, physician practices, pharmacies, and medical device manufacturers throughout Alabama and the Southeast. Hoover also represents home health and hospice agencies, chiropractors, nurses and other health care providers in a variety of matters. His experience includes litigation of Stark, Anti-kickback, and False Claims violations.
Hoover received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
