Burr & Forman's Tampa Office to Facilitate Professionalism Seminar for Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division
Tampa, FL. - Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce that the firm's Tampa office recently helped lead a two-day program for the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar's Board of Governors entitled, "Practicing with Professionalism." Burr & Forman Tampa office managing partner, William (Bill) J. Schifino, Jr., offered the opening remarks, while associate Alexandra N. Haddad and Kristina Feher of Feher Law hosted the program. Burr associate Jacqueline Simms-Petredis also served as judicial panel moderator. The program was held at the Tampa Airport Marriott on September 11 and 12.
Schifino's opening remarks set the tone for the series of workshops and panel discussions focused on offering young attorneys an overview of ethical and professional issues within the industry. The goal of the course was the fulfillment of phase one of the Basic Skills Course Requirement for admission to The Florida Bar.
At Burr & Forman, Schifino focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including securities, intellectual property, and business tort litigation. He is certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Business Litigation Law. Schifino earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University, and his law degree from the University of Florida's Levin College of Law.
Haddad practices in Burr & Forman's Commercial Litigation practice group, and is an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division, serving on the Board of Governors. She is also involved in the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers and earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from Florida State University.
Simms-Petredis practices in Burr & Forman's Financial Services group, assisting clients in matters related to foreclosures, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, compliance issues and direct filed lawsuits. She is a Board of Governors Circuit Representative for the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar. Simms-Petredis earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, and her law degree from the Tulane School of Law.
