Burr Hosts Russian Environmental Agency Delegation in Atlanta
A tour of the community was conducted by the general manager and head of engineering services for Atlantic Station, and included staff members from the City of Atlanta's Office of Sustainability and representatives from the Georgia Environmental Protection Department. The Russian visitors included Nikolai Nefediev, deputy director of the Department of Federal Policy and Legislation in Environmental Protection, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, and Olga Burkanova, director of the Office of Legislation for the Management and Elimination of Legacy Waste.
Burr & Forman Atlanta attorney Scott Hitch hosted the group. Hitch was recently appointed to the board of directors for the Green Chamber of the South. He is also a member of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership's (IGEL) Class of 2013, a program dedicated to building and maintaining a diverse network of environmentally educated leaders.
