Burr Launches Securities Litigation and Arbitration Blog
The blog is managed by 15 attorneys in Burr & Forman's Securities Litigation & Arbitration practice. This launch follows that of five other blogs by Burr & Forman.
"Due to the highly regulated and complex system of laws and regulations that impact our clients in the securities industry, their legal issues vary in context and breadth," said Daniel P. Dietrich. "This blog is meant to provide up-to-date information on securities issues arising in business strategy, compliance and resolution of disputes that our clients, and many others, face in their business life cycles."
The Securities Litigation and Arbitration Blog will focus on all issues impacting securities transactions and arbitration and litigation matters. Burr & Forman's attorneys will examine how the securities industry is impacted by regulatory authorities such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as federal laws such as the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, to name a few. It will also provide updates on any court rulings or guidance from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA).
Burr & Forman's Securities Litigation & Arbitration practice serves public and privately owned companies, individuals, investors, investment advisors, broker-dealers, insurance companies and corporate officers in matters relating to federal and state securities laws and regulations. The team provides counsel on planning and implementing public offerings of securities, private placements, sales of securities by insiders, compliance with SEC reporting requirements, proxy solicitations, broker-dealer registration and registered broker-dealer compliance, as well as the arbitration and litigation of these matters. The firm's attorneys have represented clients before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, state securities commissions, in FINRA arbitrations, as well as state and federal courts.
