Burr Partners with the Southeast Region of the Black Law Students Association on Academic Retreats

Firm News

Burr once again partnered with the Southeast Region of the Black Law Students Association (SRBLSA) to help support the organization’s 2020 annual “Academic Retreats.” The firm sponsored the group’s retreat in Tampa, FL on October 19th, bringing along Tampa partner Jacqueline Simms-Petredis and Tampa associate Chad Davis to serve as panelists at the retreat.

Jacqueline talked about following and finding your passion in the law while Chad discussed with attendees what the job search process is like post-law school; both also gave early career advice.

In addition, the firm also sponsored the organization’s retreat in Birmingham, AL on October 26th.

About SRBLSA's Academic Retreats:

Each year the Southern Region of the National Black Law Students Association (“SRBLSA”) hosts regional academic retreats where experienced legal practitioners provide practical advice to students regarding how to excel in law school and the legal field. This year, pre-law students are invited to participate in workshops where they will be provided with information regarding applying to law school and how to begin preparing for their legal careers.

About SRBLSA:

Established in 1971, the Southern Region of the National Black Law Students Association (SRBLSA) is the largest of NBLSA’s six regions with more than 40 chapters and 1,700 law students in: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The Southern Region of the Black Law Students Association ("SRBLSA") is a regional affiliate of the National Black Law Students Association (“NBLSA”), a student-run, national organization formed to articulate and promote the needs and goals of Black law students.
