Burr's Scott Hitch Selected for Green Chamber of the South's Board of Directors
Hitch joins the Green Chamber of the South's board of directors to help support the growth and success of sustainable business, and to encourage innovation and adoption of clean technology. The Green Chamber connects sustainable businesses, clean technology companies, corporations with sustainability programs, nonprofits and government organizations throughout the Southeast so that they may create enduring business connections, share best green practices, learn from one another and grow both their own bottom lines as well as create new green jobs.
"Scott's involvement with the Green Chamber and IGEL parallels with Burr's commitment to leadership not only in the business community, but to Georgia's environment as well," said Erich Durlacher, managing partner of the Atlanta office. "His dedication to Georgia's environment and his excellent contributions to our firm make him an ideal candidate for these positions."
In addition to his leadership position, Hitch was selected with 29 others to join the IGEL Class of 2013 leadership program, dedicated to building and maintaining a diverse network of environmentally educated leaders. The program brings together a diverse group of leaders from a multitude of backgrounds, including important stakeholders in sustaining and improving the health of Georgia's environmental resources. Individuals are selected by their commitment to confronting environmental issues in Georgia and who are positioned to make a meaningful contribution to the state's environment. The program focuses on leadership development with regard to current and emerging environmental issues, environmental problem solving, communication skills and conflict management.
