THE PLAYERS Championship announced updates to the volunteer leadership team last week; naming Jacksonville Partner Troy Smith the 2021 Tournament Chairman. The Tournament Chairman and Volunteer Vice-Chairman lead a team of more than 2,000 volunteers that make up the PGA TOUR’s flagship event possible. This year marks Troy’s eleventh year as a volunteer for THE PLAYERS. His previous committee leadership positions included General Parking, Ecology, Commissary, VIP Parking, Benefactor and Volunteer Shuttle.

“THE PLAYERS is in great hands with Troy leading our team of ‘Golf’s Greatest Volunteers,’” announced the preceding Tournament Chairman. “He brings a positive, team-oriented approach to every task he undertakes and inspires everyone around him to do the same.”

Troy is a member of the firm's Construction and Project Development practice group. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation within the construction industry including contract drafting and litigation, licensing, lien disputes, state and federal public job disputes, construction defect, delay and disruption claims.
