Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce that Chief Executive Officer Ed Christian was named a winner at the Birmingham Business Journal CEO Awards, earning top honors in the category for businesses with 100-299 local employees. Christian was named CEO of Burr & Forman in January 2017 and has led the firm through significant growth marked by strong financial performance and growth of key legal talent. During his tenure, the firm has grown from eight offices to 19 locations across eight states, and it has become a regularly ranked firm on the annual AmLaw 200 list of the nation’s highest-grossing law firms. Christian also engineered the firm's largest expansion at the beginning of 2019 with the acquisition of South Carolina-based McNair Law Firm, adding seven offices and increasing the firm’s attorney roster by a third.

In addition to his role as CEO and Managing Partner, Christian practices in the firm’s Corporate and Tax Practice Group, representing a variety of privately held companies in mergers and acquisitions and general business, corporate and contractual matters. He has significant experience in the manufacturing industry and regularly assists manufacturers in all phases of the manufacturing process, including financing, supply contracts, customer contracts, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances. Christian is active with the Rotary Club of Birmingham and serves on the Board of Grace House Ministries.

Christian earned his LL.M. in Taxation and a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University.
