Frannie Heizer Named to Richland One Hall of Fame
McNair Law Firm is proud to announce that attorney Francenia "Frannie" B. Heizer has been selected for induction into the Richland One Hall of Fame.
The Richland One Hall of Fame celebrates graduates of Richland One schools and others throughout the district's history who have made outstanding contributions to Richland One, as well as their professions and communities.
Frannie is one of ten honorees to be recognized at the 10th Anniversary Richland One Hall of Fame Induction Gala, held on March 22, 2014 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
A 1972 graduate of Dreher High School, Frannie has strong ties to Richland One. As Dreher's student body president during the difficult period of desegregation, Frannie provided strong leadership and her collaborative efforts encouraged dialogue among all students. In 1986, she became the first woman to be elected to Columbia City Council and in 1992, she was the first woman elected Mayor Pro Tempore for the City of Columbia.
"Frannie has devoted herself to public service," said her colleague Michael M. Beal. "Whether advocating for the rights of her clients or the needs of her community, Frannie is driven by an outstanding work ethic and a deep sense of compassion. She always thinks of others first. Our firm, city and the state are privileged to have her."
Frannie is a shareholder in McNair's Columbia office, where she practices in the public finance group. Frannie regularly serves as bond counsel or underwriter's counsel for a variety of governmental entities, including school districts, municipalities, counties and public service authorities.
