Three Burr & Forman Partners Elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers
Erin Hewitt, Judith McInnis, and Melinda Sellers have been elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). Admission is by invitation only after a rigorous screening process. ACREL is the premier organization of U.S. real estate lawyers. These women were elected to fellowship for their outstanding legal ability, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law. Erin, Judith and Melinda join fellow Burr attorneys Doug Anderson, Gail Mills, and Mark Sharpe as members of the prestigious organization.
Erin is a Partner in the Atlanta office, Practice Group Leader for Burr’s Real Estate Practice Group, and a member of the Corporate and Tax Practice Group. Erin has experience in all aspects of complex secured and unsecured debt financings, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and various sophisticated real estate transactions.
Judith is a Partner in the Columbia office and practices primarily in the areas of commercial finance and real estate development. She represents commercial and real estate lenders as well as real estate developers and tenants. Judith has extensive experience and understanding of legal issues impacting shopping centers, hotels, mixed-use developments, office buildings, and resort developments.
Melinda is a Partner in the Birmingham office and practices in the firm’s Real Estate Group focusing on condominium law, mixed-use developments, and commercial real estate issues for industrial clients. She is also a member of the firm’s Food, Beverage and Hospitality Group assisting clients with alcohol regulatory law. Melinda is a member of the firm’s Hiring Committee and is one of only two women to obtain the title of Certified CiceroneTM in the state of Alabama.
