Overview
Benjamin Jenkins is a member of the firm’s General Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He has experience drafting letters, motions complaints and other legal documentation. He has extensive legal research experience, specifically regarding 501 (c) (3) laws, vaccine mandates, land acquisition, conservation easements, intoxication exclusions in insurance contracts, premises liability in South Carolina, and application of RICO to the False Claims Act and Medicare Fraud.
Benjamin received his Juris Doctorate from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law, where he graduated cum laude. He was on the Dean’s Honor List for numerous semesters. He also received the CALI award in Interviewing, Counseling and Negotiation. During law school, he was the Associate Editor in Chief for the American Bar Association Real Property Trust & Real Estate Law Journal, as well as a law clerk for a large conservation non-profit corporation. Prior to law school, Benjamin graduated cum laude, while obtaining his Bachelors’ of Science in Economics and Finance. In the beginning of his time in college, Benjamin worked as a legal intern at a local law firm in Columbia. Throughout the last two years of his college career and his first year of law school, he worked as an Honors Intern for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Columbia and Washington, DC.
While in college, Benjamin was a part of the Dean’s Honor List, and was a Capstone Scholar along with a Dean’s Scholar. He was an active Member of Student Government, as a part of the Freshman Council, along with being Senator and Chairman and the Deputy of Athletics. He served as the Student Representative for the Russell House Advisory Board and as a Team Lead for the New Student Union Steering Committee.
In his free time, Benjamin enjoys offshore fishing, boating, and traveling. He is also an avid college football fan.
