Overview
Chad is a Partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Chad works with a wide range of clients ranging from individuals, to state and local governmental entities, investor-owned and governmental utilities, and corporate entities. His experience includes a full service and range of capabilities to meet the needs of his clients, including an emphasis on regulatory and administrative compliance, environmental permitting, and site development for industry and governmental entities, as well as administrative and civil litigation. Chad’s experience also expands to include NEPA and Clean Water Act compliance, permitting, and litigation.
Chad has assisted the State of South Carolina and private developers, as well as water, sewer, and electric companies, with environmental permitting and mitigation issues, contract issues, and the environmental requirements of economic development. He regularly practices in and appears before regulatory agencies and state, federal, and administrative courts. Chad also has significant experience in handling post-litigation appeals in administrative courts and state and federal appellate courts. Chad is also a Certified Civil Court Mediator in South Carolina.
Chad received his J.D. and International M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and Darla Moore School of Business, respectively, and his B.A. from Wofford College. Prior to private practice, Chad also served as a law clerk to The Honorable Kaye G. Hearn for three years, both at the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of South Carolina.
