Overview
Jason serves as Counsel in the firm's Construction and Project Development practice group with a focus on serving manufacturing clients on a number of issues related to the construction, equipping and operation of manufacturing facilities.
Jason also represents clients in matters involving products and general liability, construction claims management and litigation, insurance coverage, and professional liability for architects, engineers, realtors and appraisers. He has extensive experience with the day-to-day operations of manufacturing plants, working as a plant engineer for a number of years before attending law school.
Jason’s background also includes previously serving as Director Legal at ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation in Calvert, Ala. (formerly ThyssenKrupp Steel USA, LLC) and working in engineering positions for companies such as: Metso Corporation, Talladega Castings, Inc.; Svedala Industries, Inc.; and VAE Nortrak, Inc.
Jason earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (B.S., 1997) and his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (J.D., 2006). While in law school, Jason was selected as an Abraham Caruthers Fellow. He also served as Editor and Chairman of the Articles of Solicitation Committee for the law review, American Journal of Trial Advocacy.
Jason is licensed to practice law in the states of Alabama and Tennessee. He is also licensed under the Alabama State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Outside from his professional organizations, Jason is actively involved in the community serving on the Board of Directors for the Girls Scouts of South Alabama.
