Overview

Michael Waskiewicz is a Partner in the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Group. Michael leads the firm’s national replevin and consumer bankruptcy program, representing many auto and equipment lenders/financers, financial institutions, and various other creditors in both consumer and commercial matters.

Michael’s national replevin and bankruptcy program offers clients one-stop shopping for recovery of distressed assets. Mike handles all aspects of his client’s recovery needs, including but not limited to, filing replevin/detinue actions, impound litigation, defending forfeiture actions, obtaining monetary judgments, and pursuing deficiency litigation.

Furthermore, Michael’s national bankruptcy practice includes handling objections based on improper plan treatment, prosecuting motions for relief to recover collateral, and resolving valuation issues in Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 cases. Michael offers the unique perspective of having represented debtors, trustees, and creditors in bankruptcy cases.

In addition, Michael has extensive experience in assisting clients in the areas of commercial loan litigation, loan workouts, lender liability defense, contract disputes, and mortgage foreclosures.
