Birmingham Business Journal Profiles Denzel Okinedo as NextGEN Law Honoree

Firm News

Denzel Okinedo, an honoree of Birmingham Business Journal’s 2021 NextGEN BHM: Law Awards, was featured in a December 6 Q&A by the publication. The award honors the city’s up-and-coming attorneys under the age of 40, with selections based on contributions to the firm, tangible results on their practice areas and involvement in the community.

In the Q&A, Okinedo shares that he became a lawyer because he wanted to help people solve problems and to work in a field where he could actively engage with people, nurture interpersonal relationships and serve as a resource for the community. He also shares that his mom and dad have been inspirations for his career. As the hardest working people he knows, they taught him through their actions the importance of resilience in the face of adversity and the significance of living a life that touches as many people as possible in positive ways.

He shared that his favorite part about being an attorney is working in a field where he is exposed to a bastion of knowledge and resources, whether working with a client in an emerging field or with mentors in the office.

In closing, Okinedo shared “Birmingham’s star shines bright. I am an avid supporter of any initiatives that preserve the City’s cultural significance and promote our local economy, job growth and the retention of young professionals in the area.”
