BIRMINGHAM, Ala. February 28, 2019 – Burr & Forman announces the addition of Bill Lawrence as counsel to the firm’s Birmingham office. Lawrence focuses his practice in the areas of corporate and business transactional law and wireless telecommunications law.

“In addition to Bill’s corporate transactional experience, Bill’s deep experience in the wireless telecommunications area further enhances the offerings of our corporate practice to meet our clients’ growing needs across nearly every industry sector,” said Gene Price, Burr & Forman’s Corporate and Tax Group Leader. “Bill’s unique knowledge in mobile broadband technology, especially the burgeoning area of small cells needed for delivery of 5G technology, allows us to expand our presence in providing legal services to wireless carriers, cell tower owners, and other service providers in the wireless industry.”

Lawrence’s wireless telecommunications practice focuses on representing wireless carriers, cell tower portfolio owners, wireless network infrastructure providers, and other mobile broadband industry businesses in a broad range of legal, regulatory, and business related issues, including site and right-of-way space acquisitions for cell towers, small cell facilities, and other communications facilities (whether through leasing, licensing, purchasing, or obtaining other interests), communications facility and infrastructure deployments and upgrades, and network and infrastructure asset sales and other divestitures.

His business practice focuses on the representation of private and closely held companies, mergers and acquisitions, the formation and governance of various business organizations, e-commerce/technology acquisitions and agreements, and a wide range of other commercial contract matters.

Lawrence received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.  He previously served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Robert B. Propst, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.
