Burr's Al Teel and Denzel Okinedo Elected as Executive Board Members for the Birmingham Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section

Birmingham associates Al Teel and Denzel Okinedo will both serve as Executive Board Members to the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) in 2021. Al has been elected to serve as the YLS President and Denzel Okinedo will serve on the YLS Executive Committee.

The YLS is for members who are 36 years old or younger, or members who have practiced for five years or less. The Section hosts CLEs, fundraisers, and many other events for the benefit of newer members of the legal profession.

As President, Al plans to collaborate with other Sections within the Bar, along with other young professional organizations in Birmingham, and provide YLS members with opportunities to showcase their unique set of talents and passion for community service. Al was recently interviewed about his incoming role as President in the Birmingham Bar Association’s Winter Bulletin.

At Burr, Al is an attorney in the Birmingham office where his practice is devoted to serving clients in the transportation, logistics, and manufacturing industries. Al has previously served on the YLS Executive Board as a Board Member, Vice President of Social and President-Elect.

Denzel is an attorney in the Birmingham office where he practices in the firm’s Financial Services Litigation Practice Group. At Burr, Denzel represents banking and financial services industry clients in both consumer and commercial litigation matters. In law school, Denzel served as President of the Student Bar Association, as a board member of the Black Law Students Association and as a Legal Extern for the Honorable Abdul K. Kallon.
